OUR PRINTED WORDS
The mission of ‘OUR PRINTED WORDS”, A WRITERS MONTHLY NEWSLATTER, is to provide an outlet for writers and poets to express their talent. We urge you to submit your writings and we will make every effort to bring them to an appreciative audience. PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR WRITING BY E MAIL TO: ptymon@aol.com WHY DO WE WRITE? BY PHILIP “FRED” TYMON Is it because we want to express our thoughts to an audience of our peers? Is it because we want to leave a legacy of ideas to a world that we hope appreciates new ideas? Do we think we will be remembered after we are gone from the scene, or is it just to find a release from mundane lives? Is it because we picture ourselves in the roll of a hero, comic or wise man? I think it is all these things, plus, I think we write because we want people to laugh or cry or change their thinking by our words. If we can dilute some of the cruelties that exist in our world by creating a better world with our writing, then we have created something of value for our children and grandchildren.
