Officer Randy Simmons Raised the Bar

For those of us involved in programs for youths sponsored by law enforcement agencies, Officer Randy Simmons has certainly raised the bar.

As an advisor for Explorer Post 521E in the city of San Fernando, I am acutely aware of the responsibilities that are brought to bare on the adult leadership of any youth program.

Chiefs of police, city councils and parents have certain expectations that must be met. Advisors are tasked to meet those expectations and almost always with very little official or formal funding.

But in spite of these handicaps, Randy has led the way and has shown us by his enthusiasm, devotion and dedication that we can meet our goals. He has shown us what it takes to make it work.

I am greatly inspired by this wonderful human being and plan to continue working with these youngsters as long as I am able.
