MALAYSIA INT'L GOURMET FESTIVAL SERVES UP A MOUTHFUL OF GOODNESS
Is this multi-ethnic country the new 'It' food destination of the world?
LOS ANGELES- The Malaysia International Gourmet Festival, taking place from Nov. 2 - 30, 2007, invites visitors to indulge their palates in a delectable, multi-cultural eating experience. The festival expects to attract more than 100,000 people with the addition of its newest feature, the Gourmet Tours Malaysia Package.
The Gourmet Tours Malaysia Package lets guests experience first-hand the cuisine featured in the festival. The four-night package's main appeal is a cooking class, which provides guests demonstrations and hands-on lessons in the cooking style of their choice.
Founded in 2001 by AsiaReach Events, the festival initially featured participants from within Kuala Lumpur. Last year, the MIGF expanded beyond the city limits so that chefs and restaurants from all over the country could participate. The MIGF was ranked as one of the top 50 events for Visit Malaysia Year by Tourism Malaysia, and earned AsiaReach Events the PATA (Pacific Asia Travel Association) Gold Award.
The MIGF is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to food and Malaysia. The festival is a highlight for food aficionados, but Malaysia's diverse cuisine itself gives plenty of reason for "foodies" everywhere to visit. Influenced by its multi-cultural and multi-ethnic population - comprised primarily of Malays, Chinese and Indian - the country's cuisine is a fusion of mouth-watering flavors.
