More than 100 people came out to race or watch the Bob Hansing Memorial Cup Series season opener, the MotorTabs Mechanized Mayhem track cycling omniums and Madison race on April 5 that the Encino Velodrome.

Race category leaders will wear specially colored numbers, yellow for overall leader, red for endurance series leader, green for sprint series leader, and purple for the leaders in the most aggressive competition during the next race in the Bob Hansing Memorial Cup Series, the LÄRABAR Long Rider Endurance Omniums and Madison on May 3.

The next race in the series takes on added importance as the results will not only decide the leaders in the competitions for the trophies to be awarded in the Bob Hansing Memorial Cup Series, but also who will be the overall and endurance leaders in the So Cal Track Cup.
Racing starts at 5:30 p.m., and the Madison is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. at the Encino Velodrome, 17301 Oxnard St., Encino.
Gates open at 3:30 p.m., and admission is free for spectators.
There will be a concession stand and a full evening of music and fixed-gear, no-brakes, banked-track bicycle-racing action.
