ANTI-TECHNOLOGY

Recently I had the occasion to call 311. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's voice came on saying that if I had an emergency to hang up and call 911. Pardon me, I think I am sufficiently intelligent to know when I wish to call 311. I do not need to hear the Mayor's voice with his message.

Later on I had the occasion to call some companies for information. The responses I received asked me to press button 1 , or button 2 or button 3 or button 4 etc. I tried hard to reach the operator ofthe comapny and was told to hold on because the live person was talking to someone already. So I held on and was told to keep holding because the party was still talking. After a number of minutes of holding on, I heard a buzzing sound which indicated to me that for some reasonI had been cut off. Therefore, I hung up my telephone. As you can imagine, I was both sufficiently frustrated and diligently upset.

The understandable result is that at this point I am definitely anti-technology.
