This time of year, people's minds turn toward thinking about higher education and local university student's graduation commencements.
This was the fact at California State University, Northridge on May 20 at 5:30 pm.
CSUN's MEChA (Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan, LINK:
http://www.nationalmecha.org/ ) graduates and their commencement guests had to drive by the corner of Darby and Nordoff , where The Minutemen and two other 'Secure U.S. Border's now' groups shared their anti-MEChA views with Nordoff car passers-by.
MEChA is a Chicano-centric university campus organization that was founded for the sole purpose of radicalizing young Latino students with Chicano pride, racist separatism and abuse toward USA.
Returning the American Southwest to Mexico was the stated goal in the late 1960s when MEChA was founded, but today they seek nothing less than control of the United States either by ballot box or by armed revolution. This is what the MEChA Constitution says (Article II, section 1): "General membership shall consist of any student who accepts, believes and works for the goals and objectives of MEChA, including the liberation of AZTLAN {aka complete southwestern USA}, meaning self-determination of our people in this occupied state and the physical liberation of our land." The MEChA Spanish motto is "Por La Raza todo. Fuera de La Raza nada." Translation = "Everything for the race. Everything outside the race, nothing." Some recent famous MEChA newsmaker includes Antonio Villaraigosa. LINK:
http://www.bruinalumni.com/antonio/antonioindex.html Antonio Villaraigosa joined the UCLA chapter of MEChA, and was part of its leadership by 1974. Archives from the campus newspaper The Daily Bruin of 1974 have revealed that Villar/Villaraigosa led a campaign to ensure an advisory role in the UCLA Chicano Studies Center for a communist Chicano community group, and successfully engineered the dismissal of the Chicano director of the Center who stood in the way of this goal. After the protest/office take-over by Villar/Villaraigosa's MEChA students, the Bruin news further reported: "When CSC staff members arrived at the center Monday morning, they found locks inside and out of the offices jammed with toothpicks and matches, file cabinets also jammed, and the mouthpieces of the phones removed. It is not known who was responsible or whether this was connected to the demonstration Friday. Leaders of the demonstration {Villaraigosa} deny any knowledge of the incident." Another recent famous MEChA newsmaker include Juan Manuel Alvarez, who sits in his murder trial for opening statements in the 11 killed deaths in a 2005 METRO train crash. Prosecutors said the defendant had aself-serving motive when he drove his SUV onto the tracks in Glendale, LINK:

Fifteen grassroots multi-ethnic orderly anti-MEChA flag waving patriots easily outnumbered the few belligerent noisy epithet-throwing MEChA representatives that appeared on the street corner for this event. But university police were notified well before the event and police were quietly monitoring the situation without an incident. A steady positive response from car occupants was exhibited to the anti-MEChA advocates by horn honking, thumbs-up, and V for Victory signs for this two-hour activist event.
Around 7 pm, the campus police collected their traffic cones, stopped monitoring and left the street event. It should be noted that at that time the few belligerent pro-MEChA representatives moved into the patriot's ranks to instigate some physical confrontation with the orderly flag waving patriots. These pro-MEChA representatives got louder in their yelling directly in anti-MEChA people's ears and started to chest-bump into the quietly standing sign -holding anti-MEChA protestors. This over-macho confrontation tactic is basic 'G00n Games 101' and is well known by experienced mature street anti-MEChA Minutemen and 'Secure US Border's now' activists. The pro-MEChA associates were supported with a female holding a video camera and a couple of silent smiling students wearing overly baggy pants. Pro-MEChA associates verbally assaulted the objects of their hate and these associates tried to start an exchange of ideas that only ended with the Pro-MEChA yellers either widely going OFF topic when confronted with the true facts or discussions ended in petty heated ignorant name-calling of the anti-MEChA folks. Most mature adults should realize that a Pro-MEChA empty mind only resorts to this goon tactic when they have lost the discussion issue. This was happening over and over.
Pro-MEChA mock-Aztec-Indian-celebrity associate also attended this university event, an extremely ineffectual person self-named "Naui"(sp?) protestor. His only claim to fame was that while he was attending another flag waving The Minutemen and 'Secure US Border's now' Simi Valley event and after he physically attacked a senior-citizen activist woman there, he got defensively pepper sprayed by her. {Pepper spray is legal in California for self-protection and can be bought at most Sporting Goods stores.} Meanwhile, one arrving late to this event 'Secure US Border's now' Valley group's male leader who-shall-go-nameless actions was embarrassing to see. It was disappointing to see that one male leader who-shall-go-nameless was easily baited into an impotent "I'll kick you a$$!" childish and embarrassing yelling match with the Pro-MEChA g00ns. Why any mature adult and new father, who has been an activist for years now, would be stupid enough to get sucked in like this is beyond many in the political movement? It is often said, "The more you grow up, and the less you blow up." Someone needs to grow up.
This beautiful day, flag waving US citizens were giving many university students, their commencement guests, and passers-by a real education on our Constitution's Freedom of Speech, Assembly, and race relations at absolutely no charge. This event went so well there is talk about having more events on only weeks. School is out till next time! Bring your notes and pencil. See you then.
