I recently read about salvery going on in the rest of the world, mainly small countries where common decency is missing and ones where education and moral philosophy seem quite limited. A certain amount is still going on in the United States. I am not talking about slavery of the black people. I am talking about the sale of young females into prostitution. I am talking about young children especially boys, are sold to be put to work for little wages and little food so that they bring money to adults.
I am horrified. This is unconscionable. I wonder what can be done about it.
Education, to my mind , is the answer. Then again we are up against people with limited intelligence. We are up against caste systems.
It's a crazy world we live in but it's the only one I know.
I think for myself and I try to do the best I can to help better the world.
Thank you for listening and hopefully I can influence a few other people to think the same way.
Sincerely,
Sylvia of Granada Hills
