The mothers who reside at Chatsworth Park Health Care Center participated in the annual Mother's Day Tea on Thursday, May 8. This tradition has been going on for about fiveyears now and it is really something special.
Everyone gets involved to make this event happen. The activity department - led by
Juanita Lloyd, director, and her staff,
Alan Poquette and
Ulka Sanghavi - put in many hours of preparation that involve staff at Chatsworth Park Health Care Center, family and friends of residents as well as generous donations from the community.
All of the mothers who attended the tea party were adorned with large-brimmed hats decorated, with flowers that were lovingly created in previous craft classes at the nursing home.
The tea room was all decorated with spring flowers and beautiful centerpieces. Special tea pots with cups and saucers made of fine china at each table were used to serve an array of specialty teas and served with scones and all of the English-style trimmings.
The ladies listened to violin music while they sipped tea enjoyed each other's company.
The beautiful centerpieces were donated by
Norman Morri and the tea pots were provided by
Jeannie Masucci and
Laura Allen, who also support the many programs at Chatsworth Park Health Care Center, including boutiques that the residents and staff enjoy shopping for jewelry, purses and other wonderful items.
The fundraiser helps support the many activity programs that are provided for our residents.
All of us at Chatsworth Park Health Care Center are proud to partner with those in the local community who wish to enhance the lives of our residents who have contributed so much during their lifetimes.
