Seniors invited to stuff on turkey

Since September, local senior citizens have been spending Wednesdays lunching at Chatsworth Park South with a new park program.

But beginning Wednesday, Nov. 21, the lunches will be provided by the Los Angeles Senior Nutrition Program, the same group that provides lunches for the Canoga Senior Center and the Wilkinson Senior Center in Northridge.

A minimal cost of $1.25 is asked, although all seniors are invited and none will be turned away for lack of payment.

The program will begin with a traditional Thanksgiving menu with turkey and trimmings, said Dwayne Jones of the Senior Nutrition Program.

The event will begin at 8 a.m. with coffee and bagels, noted Adam Monick, facility director.

Currently chair exercises, line dancing, power walking, bingo, cards and movies have been offered, along with a craft session starting next Wednesday (Nov. 21) from 1-2 p.m.
