"Crossing Delancey," written by
Susan Sandler
, is as refreshing as an ice-cold drink in the summer heat.
See this delightful play directed by
John Barker
and
Jon Berry
(artistic/producing director) at the West Valley Playhouse, 7242 Owensmouth Ave., in Canoga Park, now through July 20.
The story concerns a single young lady named Izzy, (
Tali Blankfeld
), short for Isabelle, who has a bookstore job that brings her into close contact with the pretentious members of the Big Apple's literary scene.
She meets her idol, a famous author, Tyler (
Robert Reeves
) and dreams of a romantic happening between them.
But her grandma has other hopes.
You will enjoy the matchmaking antics of her Bubbie Grandmother (
Esther Rosen
) and matchmatcher Hannnah, (
Nancy Solomons
), as they seek to involve Izzy with the pickle vendor, Sam, (
David L. Corrigan
), who is smitten with Bubbie's grandaughter, Izzy.
The acting, direction and setting were excellent.
"Crossing Delancey" is a wonderful romantic play that everyone will enjoy.
Showtimes are at 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. Sundays.
Tickets are $24 for adults and $22 for senior and students.

What a fun play! I saw the movie, but I love live theater. See if you can get them a press photo to run with your story. It will really draw people in.
