It will give me great pleasure to attend the Z Awards on May 29 at the Warner Center Marriott.
One of the awards is being presented to Reserve Officer
Gary Thorpe
of the Los Angeles Police Department. I have been Gary's partner for almost 17 years and he has never been recognized with any type of award.
His is a silent hero for the city of Los Angeles, especially the Valley bureau of the department. Gary volunteers his time almost every Saturday night to patrol the streets of the valley, assisting the citizens wherever he is needed.
He has been overlooked many years because he truly is the silent hero. He does his job and goes home. He does not ask for anything in return or any type of recognition.
Well, this year and long overdue, he finally has the recognition he deserves as a recipient of the Z Award as well as being name Reserve Officer of the Year in West Valley. It is about time, and congratulations, Gary.
