Justice Armand Arabian recently honored seven leaders in public service, along with two scholarships to high school seniors to use for college.
In addition, there was a special presentation in memory of
Flip Smith.
The 2008 honorees are:
- Greg Baker, Lifelong Community Supporter
- Ron Kaye, Award Winning Journalist
- Daryl Gates, Former Chief of L.A. Police Department
- Tommy Lasorda, Los Angeles Dodger
- Jayne Shapiro, Children's Advocate
- Greig Smith, Councilman 12 th District
- Gerald Turpanjian, Philanthropist
Two students who received scholarships were:
- Christopher Kizer, 2008 Justice Armand Arabian Scholarship
- George Ikejiri, 2008 Bill Littlefield Scholarship
The Encino Chamber of Commerce chaired the event; Time Warner Cable was the title sponsor.
Community Partners include Alpert, Barr & Grant, Ross Baker Towing, Galpin Motors, Providence Encino Tarzana Medical Center and Los Angeles District Community Colleges.
