There she was, walking down the aisle - young and beautiful, the much anticipated day had finally come.
Yes, it was
Claudia Guerra
's day to be the center of attention as she celebrated her quince años, commonly known as a "Quinceañera" celebration - the day, long waited by Latina teens, as it is the day when they're introduced into society as coming out of childhood into maturity.
The celebration took place Saturday, Sept. 23, at the hall of Canoga Park Presbyterian Church.
As is the custom, the celebration began with a ceremony -
Pastor Jorge Hugo Morales
, of "El Shaddai" Church of Canoga Park initiated it by praying for both Claudia and her parents,
Ben
and
Ana Guerra
.
Claudia's father proceeded by singing a beautiful song with sentimental lyrics relating "seeing a little girl turn into a beautiful young lady."
Pastor Gamaniel Valle
, pastor of "Nueva Vision" Covenant Church of Winnetka, proceeded the ceremony by giving Claudia words of advice from the Scriptures - He advised her of the privileges as well as responsibilities that come with the age.
Following the cermony a reception was given - close to 100 guests and relatives were present. Of course grandma
Carmelita
was one of the most
important relatives.
Claudia has three brothers,
Bryan
,
Kenny
and
Joshua
and sister
Kelly
.
A very happy occasion indeed.
