Corbin Bowl in Tarzana used the occasion of a recent firefighter bowling tournament to raise over $6,000 for the families of fallen firefighters.

Corbin Bowl manager Gary Montgomery presented a check for $6,153 to Los Angeles Firemen's Relief Association president David Marino. The money helps the private organization provide assistance through its Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firemen's Fund to Los Angeles city firefighters, both active and retired.

Assistant Chief Scott Mottram, the on-duty LAFD commander for the San Fernando Valley, in turn presented a plaque from the Southern California Firefighters Bowling Association, thanking Montgomery for his fundraising efforts.

The SCFFBA recently held it's annual tournament at Corbin Bowl, sparking the charity drive.

Los Angeles City Councilperson Dennis Zine is preparing a certificate to be presented to Montgomery as well.
