Art and Goldie Knapp met in 1957 in Pasadena, Ca.

Goldie, from Itasca, Texas, had just graduated from high school and was planning on moving to California to live with her two sisters ( Annette and Jane). Her sisters had told Art about her before she moved to California.

Shortly after she arrived she was introduced to Art. Art enjoyed taking Goldie out and was able to get her into Joney's Bar (Art and her sisters' hangout), even though Goldie was underage. She new she had met the love of her life.

Art had already told Annette and Jane after meeting their baby sister that he was going to marry her.

They were married March 22, 1958, in Las Vegas, Nev., in a double wedding with Art's best friend Jerry Wolf to Connie, which Phil and Jackie stood up for both of them.

After their wedding they lived in Los Angeles. Art was a bartender and a salesman for Blind Made Products. After a short time, Art's cousin Ralph Beeler wanted Art to become the general manager of Blind Made Products. This is where he retired in 1993 after more than 40 years.

Goldie worked as an operator for Pacific Telephone for more than five years. However, raising her children and being there for them was the most rewarding.

The Knapps have two children - Lisa and Dale. In January 1963, their wonderful daughter Lisa was born. She was their angel. At this time, they decided that Goldie would stay home and raise their daughter. In May 1966, their son Dale was born. He was the apple of their eye.

In 1965, they moved to the San Fernando Valley, where they still reside today. However, they do have another home in the Lake Isabella area.

Art is a lifetime member of So Cal M.C. He loves motorcycle dirt riding, which he still does with his friends - Bill May, Earl, Bill Putman, along with all his Red Rock buddies, just to name a few.

He was sponsored first by Tracy's Motorcycle Shop, and Tracy Beattie became a very good friend. He was the oldest person in District 37 to receive the Number 1 plate at the age of 42 in 1973.

He was also sponsored throughout the years by Husqvarna and Pro-Circuit (which he made another good friend Mitch Payton).

His family would go to the motorcycle races every weekend to cheer him on. His children were practically raised on a motorcycle.

The family loved traveling together in their RV. Jerry (Art's best friend) would join them, along with other good friends - Bill and Bernice. They would go to their favorite spot for camping, site-seeing and fishing vacations.

Goldie is an avid bingo player. She enjoys it so much that she volunteers at St. Jane Francis Church to help her good friend Raylene sell bingo papers. She has so many bingo buddies she always has a good time.

One of the secrets to their long marriage is Art and Goldie just let each other be themselves, take one day at a time and enjoy it to the fullest.
