A grand slam for PAL!
Contributed by: Midge Reisman on 5/9/2008

Parents Against Leukemia (PAL) heldtheir 27th annual doubles tennis tournament and luncheon recently and more than 400 guests participated in the event.

Tennis was played on private courts within the San Fernando Valley. The luncheon was held at the Warner Center Marriott in Woodland Hills, where there was a boutique, silent auction and raffle.

Trophy plates were awarded to the winners.

Each year, the trophy artwork is chosen from a child going through treatment at UCLA Medical Center. This year, 12-year-old Cookie Sheehey was the artist and guest speaker.

Her heart-rendering fight against leukemia and her survival re-enforced PAL's continued goal to fund leukemia research.

The next PAL event will be the third annual dinner and show gala at the Woodland Hills Country Club on Nov. 2.

Please call Lorrie Kole at 818-888-2206 to receive an invitation or for further information about PAL.
