To: The West Hills Neighborhood Council Board Members, stakeholders, politicians, et al.,
It is after much thought and consideration that I am rendering my resignation from the Board of Directors of the West Hills Neighborhood Council.
I appreciate your efforts to continue to make a difference in the community. I no longer wish to participate in that falacy.
We voted for charter reform to gain local control of our neighborhoods. It never happened.
The recent removal of the stop sign at Highlander and Valley Circle and the installation of signals at Valley Circle and Box Canyon and Ingomar and Valley Circle
without notice to the Neighborhood Council
was the last straw for me.
It is my intent to re-establish the West Hills Property Owners Association (WHPOA) by mailing out to the previous membership (Dues were $25 per year if I remember correctly.)
WHPOA is not bound by the Brown Act. WHPOA will be able to make a difference as they did before the Neighborhood Council System was enacted by Charter Reform. If anyone would like to serve on that Board with me, please let me know.
I will bring my files to the June 6, meeting of the West Hills Neighborhood Council. I have three boxes of records dating back to the foundation of the neighborhood Council.
I have enjoyed working with all of you. Good luck with your projects.
Sincerely,
Leslie Bashaar
Founding Member of WHNC
