Because the first Sunday of the month falls in the middle of Labor Day weekend, the Chatsworth Historical Society said the Chatsworth Museum will not be open.

The Chatsworth Historical Society, which operates the Chatsworth Museum, will hold its annual membership roundup at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9.

The event will be held at the Homestead Acre, 10385 Shadow Oak Drive within Chatsworth Park South, at the west end of Devonshire Street.

Annually, the society seeks new members and invites people who are already members to come and renew their membership.

Keith Watts, vice president in charge of membership, and Lillian Schepler, long-time treasurer, will explain the types of memberships available and the cost. Linda and Andre van der Valk, co-presidents, will welcome guests. Bea Berman, first vice president, will introduce the entertainment.
