The publication of the first ever, history of Granada Hills has been set for July 18.

The pictorial history, written by former Granada Hills resident Jim Hier, is being published by Arcadia Publishing, as part of their popular Images Of America series.

The book traces the history of Granada Hills from its earliest beginnings as part of the vast land holdings of the San Fernando Mission through to the present day.

There are more than 220 images of the community through the decades - most of which have never before been shared publicly. More than 100 people and groups from all around the United States (and as far away as Australia) helped contribute stories, photographs and images for the book
