TODAY'S TOPIC: Who do you admire on Mother's Day?

Dear Mom,
This letter is to show you how important you are in my life. I want to tell you that you are beautiful, smart, caring and honest. When you are around me I feel protected and happy to have you as my mother. I love when you take my brothers and me to nice places and make us feel special. I would never change anything about you. You are one of a kind and I'm proud to have you in my life. I love you Mom!
Love, your son,
Jack Hovanessian, 9
Verdugo Woodlands Elementary
Glendale

A person I admire is my Mommy. I admire my Mommy because she is a chef, so she cooks good. Also, she is pretty and she knows what to wear. She loves me and I love her.
Emily Mahady, 8
Sacred Heart School
Lancaster

Mother's Day is going to come quick like a blink of an eye and the woman I admire is my mom. I admire her because she buys clothes, feeds, and cooks and loves my brother, sister and me. I don't admire her just because she buys me things that are expensive and nice but also she cares so much. She even tells us right from wrong. I love her so much. I wouldn't want anything to happen to her because everyone she knows really loves her, especially me. I might take her for granted a little but I appreciate her a lot since she gave birth to me. That's why I love her. Happy Mother's Day!

My mom is out of this world. She always helps me with my homework even if she doesn't know how to do it. But I will always love my mom. Now I will reveal her name, it is Yvette.
Haley Park, 10
Township Elementary
Simi Valley

The person that I most admire is my mom. I admire my mom because she is there for me. I also admire my mom because she loves me no matter what. I also love my mom because she always puts up with me and she raised me with love and care. My mom is also special because she works hard to take good care of me. I love my mom because she works to keep a house so we can live in.
Diana Martinez, 10
Fernangeles Elementary
Sun Valley

The woman in my life that I most admire is my mom. She is a role model to me and helps me with almost anything when it comes to homework or a school project. She cheers me up when I am sad, too. She gives me so much and never asks for anything in return. My mom cries every time I am away from her for a long time. Whenever I know my mom is with me, I feel very happy. I love my mom so much.
Clayton Sewelson, 12

A woman I admire is my mom. I admire her because she helps me with my homework and helps me practice for tests. She also cooks and cleans for me. She takes me places I have not been. I love my mommy a whole lot. She is the best.

What I admire most about my mom is that she can stand me and my little nieces and their friends. They're really big on the whole shrieking thing. They do it a lot and enjoy doing it. I admire her more because she can stand me. Sometimes I'm kind of spacey, and I use the word "sometimes" loosely.
Jack Graddis, 11
Oakwood School
North Hollywood

I admire my mom because she is the best cook in the world and she is always nice. She makes the best alfredo and pasta in the world. The best part of all, she plays with me and she bought two puppies.
Robert Conti, 8
Sacred Heart School
Lancaster

What I admire about my mom isn't her cooking or reading or intelligence, even though she's good at those. She is very supportive. I mean anytime I need help, "woosh," she's there with her helpful hand. She couldn't be more helpful or supportive. I adore her so much.
Thomas Veronese, 10
Township Elementary
Simi Valley

What I admire most about my mom is her desire to make me more important than herself. My mom cares for me so much that if I dropped my ice cream cone, she would give me hers. My mom is also always there for me and will do whatever is in her power to make me happy. That's why I admire my mom so much and that's why I look up to her more than any other woman.
Daniel Ruiz, 12

I admire my mom because she is really a great cook. She makes stroganoff. It's great! She makes delicious enchiladas and rice. She makes delectable meals.
Delyla Leighton, 9

I admire my mom because she makes chocolate pancakes. I admire my mama's hot cocoa, hot tea and art. She is nice to me and loves and cares for me.

A woman I look up to is my babysitter. She is such a hard worker and will stop at nothing to support her family. She is an immigrant from Guatemala and has worked so hard that she is about to have her swearing-in to become a U.S. citizen. I feel like she has finally progressed and broken so many boundaries and I am extremely proud of her.
