Neighborhood Council Valley Village (NCVV) participated with the Valley Village Homeowners Association (VVHA) sponsored annual old-fashioned

The parade began in front of Colfax Elementary School, headed west on Addison, north on Ben Avenue, east on Ostego, across Colfax to Irvine, south on Irvine, east on Hesby and ended at Valley Village Park.
Thousands of residents lined the parade route to see the decorated floats, bicycles and dogs decked out in red, white and blue.
Phillip Schaeffer, Steven Stokes, Suzanne Lewis
and
Ginny Hatfield
of Neighborhood Council Valley Village carried a banner and the parade culminated with 12 Arabian horses ridden by members of the War Horse Foundation (
www.warhorsefoundation.com
), led by founder
Fritz Bronner
.
The riders were dressed in historic costumes that wowed the community with their precision performance.
More that 1,500 Valley Village residents and their families filled the park for food, cold drinks and fun.
Evan Roosevelt
, field deputy, and L.A. Councilmember
Wendy Greuel
were in also in attendance.
"
Breice Lewis Reiner
,
Jerry Fagin
and
Peter Sanchez
of the Valley Village Homeowners Association (VVHA) are the heart and soul of the parade, both behind the scene and on the parade route," said
Ginny Hatfield
, vice president of Neighborhood Council Valley Village.
They were aided by scores of volunteers led by
Dorothy Apple
of Neighborhood Council Valley. "We look forward to the 14th year of the parade next year," Hatfield said.
