It's the last chance this season to come to Pierce College's 2nd Annual Halloween Harvest Festival, open through October 31. There's still time left for families to share quality time together engaging in many of the exciting farm events located on the corner of Victory and De Soto.
The Harvest Festival has an impressive assortment of pumpkins for purchase including "baby bears," "mystic plus pie pumpkins," white pumpkins and numerous decorative gourds. On the grounds, tasty foods include fresh roasted corn-on-the-cob, baked potatoes, Mexican specialties, barbecued tri tip, hot popcorn and beverages.
The harvest atmosphere changes from daylight into evening. During the day, young children are sure to enjoy the giant slide, bumper boats, mini-Ferris wheel, train, bungee-bouncing, pony rides, petting zoo, haystack pyramid, rock wall climbing apparatus and more. Adults can also join in on the fun of hayrides, picking out round and square pumpkins, and exploring the elaborate 5-acre corn maze. In the evening the corn maze transforms into "The Creatures of the Corn Haunted Trail," which promises to make one's heart skip a beat or two. One of several special attractions for young and daring adults is Dayton Hammond's "Sinister Dreadfords Mansion of Lost Souls" straight from Las Vegas in conjunction with Fright Fair Scream Park's "Factory of Nightmares Haunted House."
Live music and entertainment is featured on the main stage showcasing bands such as The Renders, Jayla, Janx and Jazmin, to name a few. For tickets, directions, live music schedule, and all other information of interest visit the Pierce College Harvest Festival online at www.halloweenharvestfestival.com Proceeds collected help the Foundation for Pierce College support Pierce College's Agricultural Education Center.
