Golfing is a popular event on Father's Day. Several fathers took their sons and daughters to the golf course in Van Nuys on this special day.
As is tradition,
Jay Vetter challenged his 13-year-old son,
Ian Vetter, to a competitive game of golf.
"I gave him a one stroke handicap on a par three and two stroke handicap on a par four. We played a quarter a hole and tied on six of the holes. After nine holes, he beat me by one stroke. I was in shock that he beat me because I usually win. You'd think he'd cut me a break on Father's Day, but he didn't. Father's Day isn't what it used to be," Jay Vetter said smiling. "But, it was a great day on the golf course. There is nothing else I would have wanted to do but play golf with my family on Father's Day."
"I tried to let him win, but I couldn't do it," Ian Vetter added. "But, I made up for it. I made him an apple tart topped with vanilla ice cream when we got home. He seemed pretty happy!"
Happy Father's Day to every father in the Valley!
