Dear Blonde.....A Followup Letter From Santa After The Holiday
January 2007
North Pole
Dear Blonde ...From Santa
Here I sit in my rocker across from the Mrs. in hers. We are sipping some left over cold eggnog, which tastes quite nice on this rather warm North Pole day (global warming you know) and enjoying the chocolate chip cookies and fudge you so kindly packaged in a tin for me to take home and enjoy at a later date. Rudolph and the rest of the reindeer pack consumed the catnip and rose petal snow trail mix from your garden that Darwin Cat bagged up for them. That's one smart cat you have, that Darwin Cat. Not even humans realize what a reindeer delicacy that is!
Now, to followup on that list of yours. I think I did ok, didn't I? I talked to that friend of your son's, Charlie, and he managed to get his crew over the very day after Christmas and start tearing out that nasty old driveway that you had before. One of my elves drove over your house with Prancer the other day and said it looked real good now that it's almost dry. Sorry, the rock pillars, fence and gate didn't work out...but there's something for your wish list next year.
Mrs. Claus had the secret webcam set up so we could see the delight on your face when you opened that Christmas stocking with the $100 gift certificate from Country Classics. She says to tell you to wait a month or so before cashing it on anything. It takes several weeks for them to get the goodies re-stocked after the holidays. I know...I know... the temptation is great to spend it now, but be patient, girl!
Now for that big flat screen wall mounted high definition tv for your family room, and the fireplace to put under it. There were so many requests for those this year, the elves just couldn't keep up with it. So you are on your own with that one. Your hubby was right, it's better to wait until after the Super Bowl. Prices will go down and by then you'll have your income tax returns back.. And forgo the fireplace - go with the oak stand from The Barn that matches that cute little shabby chic, ghost town décor you have in that little cottage of yours. You can still mount that big tv on the wall, but down at a more comfortable viewing level, that won't stretch your neck out of place. And you already know I manage to come visit your place without entering the fireplace.....so that's not a concern. Prancer and the elf remind me that your son took my advise and got you The Dish Network complete with 180 channels, HBO, & STARZ. Hope you are enjoying that while you wait for the tv to go with it!
Now, as for number 9 , we all have to work on Peace On Earth together! Old Santa and the elves can't do it all. So keep up the good work, and maybe it will catch on with the rest of the world.
Ho..ho.ho...ho...ho. And a Happy New Year!
Santa
