Sandy Portaro, CEO of Athletic Garage ( www.athletic-garage.com), a dance & fitness studio located in Pasadena, named the following four today in the studio's semi-annual Scholarship program: Andrea ("AJ") Taggart, age 24 , from San Gabriel, CA, Sara Giannotta, age 16, from Pasadena, Jordan Orozco, age 19, from Pasadena and Eugenia Garcia, age 20, also from Pasadena.

" Our goal with the scholarship program is to give students who wish to become serious dancers an opportunity to improve their skills, instilling the importance of technique as well as exposing them to other dance styles," said Portaro.

"For the beginner, the program will serve as a foundation. Each one of these recipients have a special, unique talent and we're thrilled to have them be a part of the studio family!"

The Scholarship program is available to anyone (age 16 and up) who loves to dance, has an ability for dance, and the commitment need to advance their skills as a dancer. Scholarship winners must commit to 6 months of classes (taking at least 6 classes per week) as well as commit to 4-5 hours of service helping out at the studio each week. Class requirements vary depending upon the student's background and will be determined by Ms. Portaro, the Scholarship Director.
