The San Fernando Valley Counseling Center is preparing for our next training class of volunteer counselors which will be starting in January 2009. We are presenting an Information Day on November 15, 2008 to describe the training program and introduce you to our organization.
We need people of all ages and ethnic backgrounds at our agency in Northridge. There are no educational prerequisites. MFT interns and trainees are also encouraged to attend.

We are looking for people who...
- know what it's like to struggle with a personal or a life problem
- place high value on compassion and courage
- have the ability to see the strength in others who are struggling
- seek help when you need it
- are considered a good listener
- can keep from giving good advice even when it's really good
