Chautauqua Series “Mark Twain: Jet Setter”
Contributed by: Tracy Young on 9/15/2008

Mark Twain is known best as a westerner and the quintessential American writer. However, for most of his life, he was a cosmopolitan Easterner who traveled the world tirelessly. He stayed throughout Europe, often for months at a time, and lectured in Australia, India and Africa. Steve Botts, our quintessential bird naturalist, will explore how Twain traveled, what he did on those trips and what the experience-and cost-was for him and his family. Meet at Woodland Hall.
