Backyard Bootcamp delivers more than just the boot
Contributed by: Leslie Maltz on 1/18/2008

Owner Leslie Maltz of Backyard Bootcamp has designed a unique program of varied and demanding workouts which challenge participants of all levels while providing a safe and supportive environment for adults.

Each month Maltz and instructor pal Jesse Wright lead a group of bootcampers towards their own personal fitness goals. Participants maintain food journals and follow strict food guidelines designed by Hollywood's leading nutritional authority, Dr. Tony Perrone.

Maltz's approach is to provide a fun outdoor adventure where students can tap into and explore their fitness abilities and overcome both mental and physical obstacles keeping them from their fitness desires.

Every workout is different and may include tug-o-war, relay races, team challenges, parachute pulls, ladder drills, bungee cords, obstacles, hurdles, free weights, resistance tubing, core stabilization, trail adventures, hill climbing, rope climbing, calisthenics and more.

Each participant is pre-screened prior to starting for any potential health risks. They receive their "before" photo, body fat composition results, free T-shirt and food journal.

Camp begins the next day at 6:15 a.m. and meets every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 6:15 a.m. at de Anza Park in Calabasas and also in Woodley Park in Encino.

Maltz can be heard this Sunday morning at 6 a.m. on KOST103.5 (Sunday Journal) and next Sunday at 11 p.m. on MYFM 104.3 talking with host, Christine Martindale on childhood obesity. Next week Maltz will be discussing nutrition with Christine and Dr. Perrone.

Leslie Maltz sent you this message from Meetup: ---------------------------------------------------------------- Normally I wouldn't give so much time to such an exchange, but you need to be aware that your comments are unfounded and you clearly haven't even taken the time to look at my past events or you would see that I have hosted many FREE events. I am absolutely allowed to have my business on Meetups and your "observations" are mistaken. I have sent your e-mails to Meetup's Spam Authority for review. I have asked them to disallow any further e-mails from you since they are unsolicited, unwarranted and have no positive value. ----------------------------------------------------------------

Leslie Maltz appears to have some issues. I went to meetup.com and questioned the appropriateness of charging people on what is basically a social networking site, and she responded with the following. What a lousy businesswoman. Here she should have been trying to turn a negative into a positive, and this was the best she could do. Oh well, guess it takes all kinds. Leslie Maltz sent you this message from Meetup: ---------------------------------------------------------------- Seriously, you have nothing better to do than judge me? You clearly don't know me, so please find something better to do with your time than judging others you don't know. ----------------------------------------------------------------
