Witch runs out of gas and into house
Contributed by: Brian Scott on 10/10/2006

Halloween is in full swing at the Scott houehold. Actually, it has been since the first day of the month.

Unless you lived in a cave, you couldn't help but notice that most retail stores started setting up their various holloween offerings in early September. I saw some stores that went with the half-Halloween and half-Christmas look. When is early considred too early?

Well I didn't mind at all and as a matter a fact I was more than happy to get my Halloween buys done early. A witch? Sure. Strobe lights...why not? Fog machine? Of course! From Walmart to Walgreens, from K-mart to Kohls the Scotts are always in search of that one piece of the decorating puzzle to make it just right. I knew we had it right just the other night when two cars driving down our street late at night made a complete stop to view our nighttime display.

I told my daughter, "That's when you know you are done decorating, kiddo".

So to everyone in and around our great Toluca Lake neighborhood I say embrace the holidays and your family traditions no matter how early you think it may be. Some may call it a retail holiday; I call it fun for our family, friends and neighbors and all those cars that come to a stop in front of our happy holiday home.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO ALL!

I love your decorating philosophy. Layer it on until the cars come to a complete stop!
