Glancing out the picture window of my Hollywood Hills home one afternoon,
I was intrigued by what caused me to snap this picture. "Why that little thief," I thought to myself as I reached for my camera. A squirrel suspended by the tops of his feet was "stealing" bird seed from a half coconut shell I had hung from the branch of a tree by string. It was intended for birds, not squirrels.
Fortunately, I was able to grab my camera before he fled.
I treasure this photo since I had never seen a squirrel perform this feat and I
have encountered many of the little devils.
Then to top it off, while visiting in Dharmasala, India, a few years later I came upon a monk hanging in a similar posture from the branch of a tree. However, he was meditating rather then stealing bird seed. I always show the two pictures together and I hope you can enjoy them as much as I.
