At the March 12 luncheon meeting of the Sylmar Woman's Club, Los Angeles Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky shared plans for a new medical clinic at the site of Sun Valley Middle School.

This action would take pressure off the emerency rooms at local county hospitals.

He also described the new theater complex at CSUN, which will enable us to see productions locally. In addition plans are being made for a multi-pupose community center at El Cariso Park.

Lori Wheeler, his assistant, spoke of the availability of a bus trip for club members to the Walt Disney Concert Hall.

Next month, Capt. Jorge A Villegas, the commanding officer of the Mission Area Police Station, will address the group.

These are just examples of the exciting programs sposored by the club.
Last year, the SWC gave scholarships of $17,500 to local students.

The club's annual boutique and fashion show will be on May 3 at the Odyssey restaurant in Granada Hills.

Tickets are available for $30 from members.

The proceeds will go to the scholarship fund and other charitable projects.
