Jim and Julie Noe of Calabasas celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 21. They were married on Dec. 21, 1957, in the Westwood Methodist Church in West Los Angeles.
They met at University High School and graduated from U.C.L.A. Julie was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and Jim belonged to the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity.
After their wedding they moved to the Valley where they have lived their entire married life. Julie has been a homemaker raising their three children while active over the years at Canoga Park Presbyterian Church.
Both she and her husband have served as elders and Julie has chaired many events in women's ministries at the Canoga Park church. They currently attend the Oak Hill Bible Church in Castaic, where their son, Jeff, is the pastor.
All of their children also graduated from U.C.L.A. Their son Jack, is one of the founding and managing partners of Oak Asset Management, located in Westlake Village. He and his wife, Lindy, also reside there.
Their son Jeff and his wife, Tanya, make their home in Castaic.
Their daughter, Janet, and her husband, Rusty Johnson, who works for Alcatal in Calabasas, reside in West Hills.
Jim graduated from U.C.L.A. as a thermodynamicist and worked for many years for the Garrett Corp. In 1994 he founded Capstone Turbine Corp. located in Chatsworth. Capstone Turbine manufactures micro-turbine generator sets for commercial and industrial use. Jim is now retired.
All of Jim and Julie's children and seven grandchildren will join them on a cruise to Mexico to celebrate their parents' and grandparents' 50th anniversary.
