The ninth annual National Day of Prayer Breakfast, sponsored by the Southeast Ventura County YMCA, will be Thursday, May 1 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza (880 S. Westlake Blvd., Westlake Village).
Keynote speaker will be Nick Vujicic, who was born without arms and legs 25 years ago in Brisbane, Australia. Vujicic now heads his own company, Attitude Is Altitude, and inspires and motivates people around the world with his message, "No Limbs, No Limits!"
"Nick is an incredible testament to the real power of faith and prayer in daily life. After listening to his story and seeing how he chooses to respond to his circumstances with hope and purpose, no one is left unaffected-this is truly a life-changing encounter," said Steve Edwards, Chairman of the event.
Prayer invocations at the breakfast will be given by Pastor Bruce Kitabjian, Grace Bible Church, Newbury Park, Rabbi Gershon Weissman, Temple Beth Haverim, Agoura Hills, Bishop Kevin Hamilton, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Newbury Park, Jim Lee, director of Spiritual Life at Oaks Christian School, Westlake Village and Deacon Vince Tomkovicz, St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, Westlake Village. Commander Keith Parks of Ventura County Sheriff's Department will be the Master of Ceremonies and singer Anne Marie Boscovich will present inspirational music.
The cost is $15 per person or $150 for a table of 10 and includes a continental breakfast. The deadline for reservations is April 24. For more information, call Lori Kent at the YMCA at (805) 497-3081 x103.
