Donate used books to Reach Out and Read book drive
Contributed by: ada smilin on 4/29/2008

Reach Out and Read, a pediatric early-literacy program, is in need of new and gently-used children's books for all ages, especially ages six months to 5 years old.

Market West, an office supply liquidator in Chatsworth, is collecting books for our local Reach Out and Read program that serves our local area. Please bring gently used or new children's books to Market West by Friday, May 30, and help make it possible for all children to grow up and learn the love of reading.

Market West is located at 9839 Independence Ave., Chatsworth. It is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. For more information, call 818-700-1650.

Reach Out andRead coordinators are happy to accept donations to purchase books for the children. Market West has several children's books available for $1-$1.29 that can be donated to this wonderful program.

Reading aloud to young children is one of the most important things that can be done to help children get ready to learn and start enjoying their education.

For more information about the Reach Out and Read program, visit www.reachoutandread.org.

Our local program is in need of 70,000 books this year. With the many budget cuts, this program truly appreciates your help and participation. Just a few dollars can make a big difference if we all take a moment to care and participate.

Donating a gently used book is a wonderful way to recyle that book. So many of us can easily clean out a closet and find gently used books.
