Electronic waste (E-Waste) recycling drive set
Contributed by: Tina Wilinski on 10/2/2007

Help donate to a good cause without money while recycling and doing something good for the environment at the same time!

The Rotary Clubs of Woodland Hills, Warner Center, Canoga Park-Winnetka and Calabasas, working in conjunction with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Coastal Inkjets/E-Waste Recovery Inc., will be conducting an electronic waste (E-Waste) recycling drive on Saturday, Oct. 20.

This event is being held in an effort to help raise awareness and funds for the fight against leukemiaand lymphoma while fighting E-Waste pollution at the same time.

The event will take place at the Canoga Park Presbyterian Church located at 22103 Vanowen Ave. in Canoga Park from 9a.m.-4p.m. with the help of Coastal Inkjets, a leader in the San Fernando business community and among businesses recycling computer and electronic waste, these groups will be conducting a collection of E-Waste which will be recycled.

Funds will be raised based on the amount of items collected. The proceeds from this collection will be donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in an effort to provide needed funds for the treatment, research and finding a cure for leukemia, and other blood cancers.

Each year millions and millions of tons of electronic waste is disposed of improperly and is creating environmental hazards.

To not add to this problem, become part of the solution and help out - RECYCLE by bringing your e-waste to the event site and get the added bonus of knowing your e-waste is raising funds to help find a cure for a devastating disease. Simply come by and drop off your used or broken e-waste.

E-Waste includes used computers, printers, copiers, monitors, LCD screens, TVs, laptops, used printer & toner cartridges, used cellular phones, used medical equipment, VCRs, microwaves, etc.

Every E-Waste donation will help make this event a great success while making a difference in the lives of those diagnosed with leukemia, or other blood cancers, as well as help the environment. All donations are greatly appreciated.
