The Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley Foundation is offering the Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship for young women who are interested in pursuing a career in business. Applicants must be eligible to enter the third or fourth year of an undergraduate degree program at an accredited university/college/institute and must submit applications by April 14, 2008.
Klausman scholarships are offered to encourage women to enter careers and to seek leadership positions in business-related fields in their communities and throughout the world. The winner at the local club level will receive $1,000, and is then eligible to compete at the district level.
The winner at the district level will be eligible to participate at the Zonta International level to compete for one of six $5,000 awards.
The scholarship was established from a bequest by Jane M. Klausman, a member of the Zonta Club of Syracuse, NY, who was a successful business woman-professional secretary, parliamentarian, and entrepreneur.
Applications have been distributed to Southern California universities and colleges. College students interested in applying can call Barbara Stearns-Cochran at 661-251-1352.
