Adult Volunteers Needed to Read to Children
Contributed by: Children's Librarian on 6/11/2007

What:
Mid-Valley Regional Branch Library is looking for adult volunteers to read to children as part of the Grandparents and Books (GAB) program. Volunteers must be at least 21 years old.

GAB Readers encourage children to experience the fun of reading. Volunteers make a six-month commitment to read with children two or more hours a week.Volunteers also receive training in techniques to make reading come alive. Bilingual readers are welcome.

GAB can help children succeed. When children share stories with a GAB reader, they improve their reading skills, enrich their imaginations and develop a life-long love of reading.
