What:
The teen reading club is a community program for teens ages 11-18 years old, encouraging them to read for their own pleasure and personal development.

"Passport to Reading: Celebrating International Travel and Diverse Cultures" at the Los Angeles Public Library is the 2008 theme.

The reading program is intended to stimulate an interest in reading and learning about other countries of the world, help students become more proficient in geography and encourage young people to learn about the traditions and cultures of their families and those of their neighbors.

Reading club participants will receive a variety of club materials including a book bag, an activity folder and an exclusive passport of activities when they sign up at Sylmar Branch Library.

Members will also receive an achievement certificate at the end of the program.
