Northridge West Neighborhood Council meets Oct. 14

What:
The Northridge West Neighborhood Council's (NWNC) next regular meeting will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, in the auditorium at Beckford Avenue Elementary School, 19130 Tulsa St., Northridge.

The school is north of Chatsworth Street and west of Wilbur Avenue. Enter via Vanalden Avenue.

NWNC meetings are held every second Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m.

The agenda for the meeting will be updated about 72 hours or more before the meeting.

Northridge West Neighborhood Council (NWNC) still needs to fill one vacant education seat. Interested candidates should call the NWNC President at 818-366-5226 by Friday before the NWNC meeting to be on the Oct. 14 agenda. Update Oct. 13, 2008 education is still vacant and not on Oct.14 agenda because no one was interested at this time.

The boundaries for NWNC are south of the 118 Freeway, west of Reseda Boulevard, north of Nordhoff Street and Nordhoff Way and east of Corbin Avenue.

Northridge West Neighborhood Council will have a booth at the Northridge Fashion Center - Farmers' Market and Family Festival from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct 1. It will be the last Farmers' Market andFamily Festival of the summer.

The Northridge Fashion Center is located at Tampa Avenue and Nordhoff Street. The event is held in the parking lot near Macy's and Borders Books. Council members will have handouts about the council and what it is. There may also be NWNC pens at the booth.

The purpose of the NWNC is to provide a forum for stakeholders to address issues related to quality of life and to serve as an advocate for concerns in our community.
