What:	NEXT › ‹ PREVIOUS The Friends of the Sylmar Library Book Sale will take place from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, May 17, with a preview sale from 3-5 p.m. Friday, May 16. The Friends' sale features thousands of books at bargain-basement prices. There are a lot of like-new books as well as lovingly used books. Categories include fiction, mystery, history, politics, science, health, self-help, reference, business, Spanish, theology, cooking and crafts, art, literature, travel and animals as well as books for children and teens. We have a large selection of Civil War, history and True Crime books that have been recently added to our collection. So be sure to come early if this is your passion. Hard-cover books are regularly $1, paperbacks cost 50 cents and children's books cost 10 cents. Special books are priced as marked. There are also music and video tapes, books on tape, CDs and DVDs for sale. All books are displayed inside, out of the weather, in air-conditioned comfort in the beautiful Friend's Room at the Sylmar Branch Library. What do the Friends of the Sylmar Branch Library do with the money we raise at our book sales? There are many things we do to help the library, such as help with the expenses of the wildly popular summer reading program. The city has cut back on funds for new books, so Friends are planning to help purchase new books for your library with proceeds from the sale.
