The Warner Center Rotary Club is sponsoring a children's book drive
Did you know ... "In Southern California, four out of five third-graders cannot read at grade level. Research shows that children who fail to read by the age of 9 rarely catch up later"?
You can help change this by donating a new or gently-used children's book. Book donations will be distributed to local public schools in Southern California and Nevada. Our club will be bringing all donated books to the Rotary International Convention held June 14-18 at the L.A. Convention Center, where we will build a mountain of books. Rotarians, family and friends from all over the world who will be attending the convention will also bring books to donate in an effort to build the largest mountain and help us here in Southern California to improve literacy levels and build better tomorrows. Please join Rotary in this effort and donate new or gently used children's' books today.
Donations will be accepted through June 11. Bring donations to a meeting of the Warner Center Rotary Club, from 8-9 a.m. Tuesdays at the Holiday Inn, 21101 Ventura Blvd, Woodland Hills. You can also enjoy a free breakfast at the meeting. If you can't make a meeting, e-mail Warner Center Rotary at service@WarnerCenterRotary.Org to set up an alternate donation site or pick up.
