The Start of Regional Cultures in America

What:
"The Start of Regional Cultures," will be the topic of speaker, Norma Garbert at the July 20 meeting of the San Fernando Valley Genealogical Society at 7:30 p.m. at the Balboa Mission Town Hall, 16916 San Fernando Mission Blvd., Granada Hills.

Norma Garbert
will tell us the reasons early settlers left England, and the reason the emmigrationstopped.

Norma Garbert will also tell the group what records we can to expect to find on our ancestors in each area. She will tell how each group tended to keep records and which records arestill likely to have survived. Norma will give us a little history of each group such as the Puritans of New England, Virginia and the Anglican church, Delaware Valley and the Quakers, and the backcountry, where records are more difficult to find.
