Farewell, Haley “Legs” Scarnato
Contributed by: Annie Hundley / valleynews.com   on 4/12/2007

Last night American Idol fans said goodbye to Texas beauty Haley Scarnato.

Haley was the right one to go - she had reached the point in the competition where her looks were exceeding her talent. Consciously or not, she was showing more skin each week, but this week the skin didn't save her.

During Tuesday night's show, Haley sang Turn the Beat Around. It was Latin Night and while Haley's short shorts perhaps provided a little Latin sizzle, her vocals weren't up to snuff.

"That was really karaoke," Randy said. "That could have been anywhere."

Simon zeroed in on Haley's skimpy outfit. "I think you have a good tactic, Haley. Wear as little clothes as possible because you're not going to be able to compete with your voice because there are much better singers in the competition."

Next week the top seven will tackle country music with coach Martina McBride.

If you were a fan of Haley, you can follow her on this fan site.

I would have agreed with you a couple of weeks ago. But week after week I watch with my family these terrible performers with no personalities or singing skills. I would name them by name, but I can't remember any of them. The only reason to tune in now is Sanjaya. At least he is entertaining.

Ruining this year's show? That would be Sanjaya who is destroying the show's already very tenuous grasp on credibility. I'd stop watching, but I think I'd need a 12-step program to help me through the hard times.

Are you kidding me? Haley was the right one to go? Cmon, Annie. Your telling me funeral singer or the other non-personalities ruining this year's show was better than her? I've heard better singing and seen more personality at karaoke night at Davies Locker. Time to root for Sanjaya. Or maybe to just quit watching.
