Condoleeza Rice and Vice President Dick Chaney keep reminding us of the difficulties surrounding Germany's occupation and how much it looks like Iraq. Compared to the Iraq mess - where the U.S. military is grossly under-manned - Germany was solidly occupied by overwhelming Allied forces, including hordes of the Red Army.

The enemy in Iraq has inexhaustible access to weapons and munitions -courtesy of the U.S. military leadership - totally different than its action in World War II, where they destroyed all the weapons.
