Out with the old in with the new
Dingell is outshined by the new political climate that does not favor old ideas. No love for the auto industry when Global Warming is taking on as a bigger priority. Waxman embodies the echo-friendly canidate that will hopefully follow the Green wave sweeeping through California

Rep. Henry Waxman won the panel chair after a 137-122 vote pushed Rep. John Dingell from his post.

82 year-old Dingell, a long serving democrat and member of the House, has supported the auto industry for many years and has fought feverishly against clean air legislation which is now unfavorable amongst a new political climate sweeping California.

Now that Waxman has the chair, he faces various challenges for California including energy, climate, and health care reform. Prior to the oust of Dingell, Waxman had critisized the comitee of being slow to reform. Some environmentalist groups have been advocates of Waxman because ofhis policies that seem to follow that of Barrack Obama's.
