A word on L.A. sports

So many things to write about, it's easier not to write anything. But I need to practice my writing and create a good portfolio if I ever want to make money doing something I enjoy.

Watched the Dodgers dismantle the Washington Nationals. It doesn't matter to me that the Nats are one of the worst teams in the league. If only every game could be so easy.

This proves how important the table setters are, like Pierre and Furcal to set up RBI opportunities for Nomar, Kent and Gonzo. We haven't had a regular lead-off man since Brett Butler left. There were brief flashes of talent with older veterns like Dave Roberts and RIckey Henderson, but those guys were near the end of their careers.

We tried a lot of younger guys who could hit and run, but just didn't have the head for being a lead off guy. Those guys need to take a lot of pitches just to show what sort of stuff the pitchers has going for him. Even if he doesn't get on base, he can still tire out the pitcher by making him go six or seven pitches into the count.

The Dodgers finally have a reliable bullpen and starting rotation. This is the cornerstone of any good Dodger team. Now it seems that there is steady hitting behind them with plenty of World Series experience.

Kobe demands a trade. Good for him. Maybe we can trade for a superstar point guard or center. But as I read earlier, nobody is going to want Kobe, or at least not give us anything we want. I would take LeBron james.

Kobe has only proved he can run a championship team into the ground like Jerry Krause did to the Bulls by alienating the best center and best coach in the league.

Why would anyone possibly dismantle a team that won three championships if they were really about "winning."
