Greens take CSUN by storm
Contributed by: EUGENE HERNANDEZ   on 10/10/2006

The Green Party's slate for public office spoke at the Cal State Northridge's Student Center yesterday, sponsored by CSUN's Green Club on campus. Peter Camejo spoke to an adoring crowd about his race for the governor's office. Camejo, who did very well in the Recall election against Gray Davis, spoke of the unfairness of his being excluded from the governor's debate. Camejo has creative and positive platforms which the major party candidate lack. Richard Costa, running for an Assembly seat also spoke. He spoke of the groundswell of support he has received in the Pasadena, Altadena area. Donna Warren, candidate for Lt. Governor, spoke about the unfairness of the 3 strikes law. Byron De Lear, candidate for the 28th Congressional District received the greatest applause when he spoke about how his opponent, Howard Berman, paid his brother, Michael Berman, to gerrymander the congressional district to disenfranchise the Latino voters and was paid $2 million tax-payer dollars to do this. The students and faculty in attendence readily adopted the Green Party 10-point platforms and wanted to volunteer to work on the Greens campaign.
