Pacoima Singers Win!

On April 18th, the Pacoima Singers, the musical theater group from Pacoima Middle School that includes my ever-talented daughter, Cassandra, attended an all-day competition with a couple dozen other middle and high school choirs at Disney's California Adventure theme park.

While other schools were reported to have more glitzy costumes or contemporary music, only Pacoima Singers were able to put together a show that included the choreography, singing skill, and enthusiasm that made them the winners of the middle school category.

Then, they went on to win the overall competition to beat out the high schools, too. The newly awarded musical theater group will be heading to Vancouver in less than a month for their international competition. Any advice on how to get a last-minute passport would be appreciated by me.

Anyway, the group sang great and brought home two great big trophies as proof that the San Fernando Valley hosts some of the best singers Mickey Mouse has ever heard. Congratulations!
