Women golfers in the Santa Clarita Valley will network for business, golf and charity during the Women On Course Happy Hour to be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, at the Roast House on Bouquet Canyon in Santa Clarita.
Hosted by the Zonta Club of Santa Clarita, Happy Hour participants will enjoy food and wine together, and will access local golf resources.
The Happy Hour also will feature a golf skills presentation by LPGA instructor
An Marie Ekfeldt, who will provide valuable insight on putting tips and tricks.
In addition, on-site registration will be available for the third annual Zonta Golf Tournament, to be held at Robinson Ranch Golf Club May 19.
This is the second Women On Course Happy Hour to be presented in the Santa Clarita Valley. Last October, nearly 50 women golfers gathered for a similar Happy Hour networking event, which featured TV host, author and LPGA player
Debbie Steinbauch-Keller.
"We are excited to return to Santa Clarita," Women On Course President
Donna Hoffman said. "We had a great turnout last October, and have room for even more enthusiastic women golfers at the April 29 event."
"The Happy Hour will be a great opportunity for women golfers to get to know each other better," said
Michele Mann, representing the law firm Mehta & Mann, title sponsors for the May 19 Zonta Golf Tournament. "Hopefully, these new friendships will carry forward to Zonta's Golf Tournament, which is always a great day of golf and camaraderie. The Zontians really spoil their golfers while they raise funds to improve the lives of women and girls!"
Zonta's tournament will include 18 holes of challenging golf on the Valley Course at Robinson Ranch, hot barbecue lunch, hosted cocktail hour, awards dinner, an opportunity drawing for sports prizes.
An exciting live auction at the awards dinner will feature a week at a beautiful north Maui beach home and a golf package at the Ojai Valley Inn, among other items.
Trophies for Best Women's, Best Mixed and Best Men's Teams will be awarded.
Proceeds benefit Zonta's programs to improve the lives of women and girls.
Individual registration is $175, and Mulligan supertickets are available for $50, which offers a scratch-off vacation package, $100,000 cash shootout, hole-in-one contests and more.
Sponsorships are available.
Every year, more and more women take up the sport of golf, and according to the National Golf Foundation, 22 percent of all golfers are women, which translates into 5.76 million female golfers.
"Women On Course strives to increase that number by helping women connect with golf resources and each other," Hoffman concluded, pointing out such events as the Santa Clarita Happy Hour April 29.
Beyond events, Women On Course recently launched several new services including an on-line golf boutique to access stylish fashions, a resource guide to find instructors and other golf services, as well as a membership package including access to an on-line clubhouse and networking in between events.
Admission to the Happy Hour event on April 29 is $15 for Women On Course members and $30 for nonmembers.
