1) Stretch on a daily basis. Short tight muscles tend to generate short crooked shots.
2) Know your swing tendencies and how to correct your faults.
3) Take lessons regularly... see #2.
4) Be fitted for your clubs. Clubs are like clothes, they don't all fit everyone the same.
5) Master four shots
a. Tee Shot.
b. Three foot putt.
c. 50 yard wedge.
d. Basic chip shot.
6) Use a driver with a 10° - 12° loft and hit more 3 woods off the tee.
7) Practice 45 minutes a week on your swing and at least that much on your short game.
8) Play to the middle of the green with any club longer than an 8 iron.
9) Develop a great set up. Focus on grip, aim, posture and ball position. See #3.
10) Have fun, golf is a game! Enjoy laughing, nature, and telling jokes. If you play fast with a smile on your face, I bet you will have a more enjoyable golfing experience!
